Karuta game description here (or go watch Chihayafuru :P)-- (( ))

Bozu Mekuri rules:

-Torifuda (game cards) are put in one pile at the start of the game (two piles, besides the players' piles, during the course of the game; A pick up pile and a forfeit pile)

- players pick up one card per turn. there are 3 different cards. Prince, Lady, and a Priest (Bozu/bald man)

- if a player picks up a lady card, they can continue to collect another card from the pick up pile and add it to their own pile in front of them until they get a Prince or Priest.
** when there are cards in the forfeit pile, they get to take all the cards for their own pile

- If a player picks up a Prince card, they add it to their own pile and must end their turn there.

- If a player picks up a Priest card (Bozu), they must forfeit all the cards they have collected in their own pile, along with the Priest card just picked, and place them in the forfeit pile beside the pick up pile.

- The winner of the game is the one with the most cards in their pile by the time the pick up pile runs out

------- Additional rules -----------
- there are stages at the bottom of each card with either stripes or solid colour. Most cards don't have stripes at the bottom and are considered normal cards.

-If a card is chosen that has a striped stage at the bottom, the player that chose the card must put the card down on their pile and leave it alone. Their pile is now open for grabs (can be "slapped") for anyone else playing to add to their own pile.

- The player that chose the striped stage card can only protect their pile from being stolen when attacked.
